Crocodile Dreaming

This Didgeridoo represents the Crocodile which is one of the ancient Aboriginal animals that has walked the land for many thousands of years. This is an animal that must be respected, as it is believed to be one of the Aboriginal elders that represents a warrior from the top of Australia. The Crocodile walks across the land with respect, so whatever walks with him must also show respect. If we walk together with respect to the land, the land will respect us. This Crocodile has been carved from top to bottom. At the bottom is the head of the Crocodile with its mouth open. The length of the didgeridoo has been hand-carved and burnt, and depicts the scales over the Crocodile's body. The Didgeridoo also has four carved Crocodile legs, two on each side. When I saw the natural colour of the didgeridoo after I peeled the bark off, I decided to leave the colours as mother nature provided.
